Montana ID Theft Law Becomes Effective March 1st

The State of Montana HOUSE BILL NO. 732, goes into effect March 1, 2006.  The bill package includes a number of protections for consumers. It requires most businesses in Montana to take precautions when disposing of customer records. Also, businesses must alert customers if their computer security systems are breached, and are prohibited from printing more than the last five digits of a customer's credit card number on a receipt.
